The "Anti-'Possum" Part 2: Find Your Inner Garrison and Unleash Your Wilberforce

Picking up where I left off last, I think it is important for us to keep William Wilberforce and William Lloyd Garrison in mind as role models for our actions.

Also keeping in mind cowardice, corruption, and deficient skills have always plagued humanity. No strange thing has befallen America, there have always been “‘Possums.”

So in truth, I do not want you to talk about Wilberforce, like every other Christian does, I want you to be a Wilberforce. Anyone can blabber, the “Religious Right” is great at flapping their mouths, and equally great at losing. The Christian world does not need anymore jokers, pimps, magicians, and hustlers.

I have big expectations in general for America and for the Pro-Life Movement. I should probably warn you now that I have been spoiled by reading the Bible, so I have no interest in exaggerating little victories, (don’t say, I didn’t warn you). I want to “spoil Egypt,” and bring the Jericho walls tumbling down.

That is not to say, I would not take small victories, but I will never be satisfied with less than taking the “gates” of the enemies of Almighty God. I desire to crush their rebellion and take every “gate” they have possessed. And why not cast them out? Who would rebel against the Lamb of God who has sacrificed himself for each and every person’s salvation?

If we are to be the “‘Anti-’Possum” as Pro-Lifers then how does it make sense to generally expect defeat?

It is not what Wilberforce or Garrison said so much as what they did built upon their Faith. In fact Wilberforce was so bold in his faith in God and justness of his cause; he declared victory at the first proposal of his act to abolish the slave trade.

Both Wilberforce and Garrison had complete confidence in God and His Truth prevailing that they simply spoke the truth and fought and remained faithful to the cause believing God would deliver them victory.

Some christian authors label Wilberforce naïve for his confidence and faith that God would prevail and give victory to a man pursuing a Just cause. I say to any Christian who thinks him naïve, or any Pro-Life group naïve, for having complete Faith in God and going directly to confront Goliath, you are a fool. Having the Martyr’s Crown is not good enough for you?

Why do we think God is not able to use any one of us who is obedient to overthrow the evil of child-killing and its proponents?

Jehovah delivered the Israelites from Pharaoh and even crossing the Red Sea with the hand of Moses, who repented of his cowardice.
Jehovah delivered the Israelites from Midian with the hand of Gideon, a weak and lowly man.
Jehovah delivered the Israelites from the Philistines with the hand of David, the least of his brothers.
Jehovah delivers everyone who repents and believes from a just and eternal punishment for our crimes and sins. This feat is far greater than all others.

When we consider all that God has done, passing a bill to outlaw child-killing is a small thing to the Almighty who can cleanse a wretch from all impurities and declare that sinner a saint.

According to my logic, this is all the more reason for us to get busy and be zealous in criminalizing the murder of babies. How can we fail? God created the world and overcame death itself. That means if we are failing, it is not God’s fault. We should look first to ourselves.

This is not the hollow inventions of a human imagination attempting to manufacture victory. I do not need to create an enemy, nor do I speak as most Christians do, who exaggerate their inner struggles into some great battle to ease the guilt of their cowardice. There is a real war going on, where real victories and losses occur and matter.

I do not have to manipulate Biblical accounts into only a spiritual event with a pseudo-spiritual application, so I am able to conjure an illusion to explain how my failure to directly confront evil in our culture is actually wise, prudent, or spiritual.

Remember one of the first civil-disobedients in history? His name was Daniel, and how did he fare? Why are we so afraid as Christians? Is Hell not real to us? Can we defy God and His will and enter Heaven? Who would take that gamble?

Consider Psalm 106 and do not miss verse 43, “Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.”

So find Your Inner Garrison and Unleash Your Wilberforce! Do not just go around talking like the Pharisees, like the leaders of the “Religious Right” do. Get in the fight, go to the front, and lay waste to the Devil’s plans. We are Christians, not “‘Possums!”

God allows us to be part of His great plan and to demonstrate our Love for Him.

We have a duty if we Love God.

It is worth reading all of John 14, but note verses 23 and 24:

“23 Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching.
My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching.
These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.”

Do not buy into gimmicks this election, do not be scammed, voter-guides are a waste of time and money. Say the truth boldly and clearly with these candidates below.

We can have a profound effect on this coming election by hurting Obama’s vote as much as 8% in swing states with Pro-Life ads that show murdered babies and say a vote for Obama is a vote for black genocide and other things “‘Possum Groups” cannot say. (Look at me go effecting the election, ...like a boss.)
