The silence is deafening

I am nearly in a state of shock at the deafening silence by the Church, but mainly from the USCCB over the soon to be implemented ‘reproductive rights’ services that will be forced upon all faith based organizations. One would think because cold blooded murder of the most innocent is of the gravest violations of God’s laws, which God’s representatives here on earth would be fighting tooth and nail to end this abomination before it begins. But I hear nothing, and do not see the average churchgoer even lifting a finger to make this a front and center issue in his faith walk.
I would expect a church, which makes ‘bold’ claims to be the purveyor of God’s laws and premier protector of life to be front and center on this issue. I would expect the church and its leaders, the bishops, to be making such a fuss over this, that it would have been resolved months ago. I would expect to see a fight commensurate to the crime committed and see ‘heads roll’, politicians fearful of implementing policies eerily similar to the third Reich, massive arrests and protests on a daily basis and the press discussing and awaiting with baited breath for the next move of the brave and warrior like leaders of our faith. Instead, we are treated to wimpism, indifference and mediocrity. And this is from our Bishops.
One can make the claim that the likes of Cardinal Dolan and others are doing ‘behind the scenes’ work and to have faith in them. Well, sorry, it is going to take the sheer numbers of the faithful to change this tide, and ‘behind the scenes’ work is nothing more than a cop out and a shirking of divine orders to protect the most innocent from pre meditated murder. This is dereliction of duty of the highest magnitude and it appears in the end, the bishops one more time will kowtow to man’s laws and will have sold the laity and the babies down the river of blood that they in large part, helped to create and maintain by their silence.
I am fearful that the USCCB is going to take the tactic written about by Patrick Buchanan several months ago. Mr. Buchannan suggested that 2 weeks PRIOR TO THE ELECTIONS the bishops have strong and condemning letters read from every pulpit from every church across the fruited plains and ‘mobilize’ the laity into action. Then the Bishops can ‘threaten’ to not give the invocation at the Democratic Convention as a ‘testimony’ against Obama’s positions and mandates concerning ‘reproductive services’. As mentioned before, this will make the Demovamps shake in their booties and will require them to change their Depends undergarments in quick fashion. Wow, I’m brimming with excitement and anticipation of this showdown!!!
I am willing to bet that very little becomes of this. I don’t believe for a minute that the bishops will come out a as body with any decisive stance. If they do come out with anything, it will be a mish mash of convoluted statements that will look like they want an exception to these laws, but will also tow the IRS line and not ‘condemn’ the Obama administration by name and will not jeopardize their precious income stream by tapping into government funds or their 501 c 3 status. Anyone who has paid even the scantest of attention will realize the Bishops as a body will not stand up and call this rogue government out on its sinful behavior. And it will be one more time the Church and the bishops will be derelict in duty.
The laity and the Church deserve more than this. Ultimately, if this sinking ship is turned around, it will be on the backs of the laity. The bishops and the USCCB is once again MIA and ought to be so simple to see that a cave dweller could figure it out. Once again, the laity will do the heavy lifting as the Bishops will take the credit and act like it was them who inspired the changes. Thank you bishops for the brave new world you helped usher in.
