1% IS THE BEST WE CAN DO?

    George Offerman

A recent Washington post poll asked likely voters to rank in importance a number of issues, ranging from the economy to legalized child killing. Not surprisingly, the economy won this ‘poll’ coming in at 51%. Unfortunately though, only 1% of likely voters saw legalized child killing as the number one issue affecting our society. In fact, abortion ranked in with terrorism, national security, the federal budget deficit, war in Afghanistan, social security, gay marriage foreign policy, experience, and the need to beat Obama/Romney. Wow! And this is despite the claim by most mainstream pro life groups that want to brag about how’ for the first time since Roe, the majority of Americans are pro life. Pro life how? Is this the double secret probation version of being pro life? “Let’s keep it a secret, because we don’t WANT TO OFFEND ANYONE!!!”

Since we claim to be a Christian nation, it would seem that we would reflect the values and tenets of Christianity in our daily lives. One would think that claiming to be Christian would actually result in reflecting ‘Christ like’ characteristics on a daily basis and living by Christ’s command of “whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me”. What it seems like the majority of Christians are reflecting is more like getting their hands on 30 pieces of silver and taking care of their own comfort and convenience. The saddest part of this polling data for me is knowing these people were called at their homes, and this was done randomly. There was no pressure put on them by the enemy to ‘save face’ and no consequences if they were to stand up for life. But they did not. These people did not even stand up for the babies when there was absolutely no threat or harsh consequences to them. How in the world will these milquetoast or ‘possum’ Christians deal with real persecution?

It is very interesting how the pro life movement castigated Missy Smith in her running for Congress in Washington, D.C. 2 years ago. Besides the charge of ‘inciting people’ with graphic pictures of dead babies on the television airways, Ms. Smith was considered an ‘unviable’ candidate given she only received 10% of the vote. That’s at least what many of the mainstream pro life groups stated, such as the Susan B. Anthony list and National Right to Life. Well, now we see that only 1% of the likely voters see the babies worth taking a stand over. So, how ‘viable’ are these mainstream pro life groups, when a convicted felon can pay 1K to get his name on a ballot in West Virginia, and literally spend nothing in campaign money, and garner 40% of the vote? Do we want to send our hard earned money to the majority of these pro life groups, who can do nothing better than 1% for all their millions? SHOULD WE BE SENDING THEM MONEY AT ALL????

We are getting our asses handed to us. There is no simpler way of putting this. If there is any doubt we are marching headlong and quickly into a period of Judgment, it should be assuaged by this dismal showing of support for what is the most fundamental of God’s laws. We are in our 40th year of legalized child killing, and 40 years in Biblical numerology is an important milestone. We’ve been dealing with this scourge for this amount of time, and it no longer registers on the average Christian’s radar. One cannot simultaneously love God and mammon. One will choose to love one and reject the other. We are now seeing which of these gods the Christian community and Christian Churches has chosen. Now the Living God will soon require the ultimate test of us: to determine which god will save those who have chosen wrong. If there is a relevant 1% in all of this, it will be those who will be protected from the coming judgments, as they did not deny their Lord publicly, as the other 99% have. Let the war of the gods begin, and may the God of the universe prevail.
